Ingredients

  • 14 ounce can of condensed milk
  • 11 ounce bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 tsp of coconut oil
  • 15 oreo cookies or your favorite cookie

Instructions

  1. Spray a 9 by 9-inch pan with Pam cooking spray and add parchment paper to your pan it should hold the parchment paper in place. Then repeat the same process diagonally so the whole pan is covered and spray some more Pam on top of the parchment paper and sides of your pan. All of these steps are necessary so your fudge won't stick. Trust me you will thank me later!

  2. Melt your chocolate and coconut over a double boiler on medium heat until it becomes silky smooth. Then add your can of condensed milk and stir until well combined. Then take the mixture off the heat.

  3. Add a little bit of your fudge mixture to the pan and spread it out until it covers the pan with a spatula. Then add your cookies. (15 Oreos should cover the whole pan if not then add more.) Next, pour the remaining fudge mixture on top of the cookies and spread it until it covers the Oreos completely.

  4. Set in the fridge for 2 to 3 hours to let the fudge firm. Once the fudge is firm cut it into squares and enjoy! 🙂

Red Velvet Cake Recipe

Red Velvet Cake Recipe

This red velvet cake recipe will not only knock your socks off it will have you in cake heaven. We were able to achieve a super moist sponge red velvet cake with soft and creamy homemade cream cheese frosting.

This recipe is super inexpensive and easy to do because red velvet boxed cake is only $1.50 and the rest of the ingredients you probably already have in your refrigerator. It takes about 1 hour and 20 minutes total to make this recipe including prep and baking time.

I like this red velvet cake recipe because it’s great for people who don’t always want to do a cake from scratch, and just want to whip something up quick that will satisfy your cravings.  Simply put this recipe can be added to your collection as one of your more easier recipes to make. Also, you can take this same recipe and use for the chocolate boxed cake as well.

The tools you will need:

1.) 7 or 9-inch cake pan

2.) Cake board or something to put the cake on to frost it.

3.) Large bowl to mix with

4.) Measuring cup

5.) Stand or hand mixer

Optional tools:

      • Wilton Bake Even Strips; I got these from Amazon and it just allows us to have flat even cake layers. So we don’t have to level the cake to get even layers, and once the cake is cool we can get right to frosting it.

That’s all you the tools you will need to complete this recipe! The recipe is at the bottom of the post.

The Ultimate Red Velvet Cake Recipe Made From Boxed Cake

Course Dessert

Cook Time 35 minutes
Total Time 1 hour 5 minutes
Servings 11
Author Food Recipes For Lazy People Staff

Ingredients

Cake

  • 1 box of Red Velvet Cake Mix
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 stick of melted butter
  • 1 1/4 cup of warm milk

Frosting

  • 8 ounces of cream cheese room temperature
  • 4 cups of powder sugar
  • 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
  • 1 stick of butter room temperature

Instructions

Cake Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.
  2. In a mixing bowl add the red velvet cake mix, the melted butter, and milk together and mix for 5 minutes or until well combined.
  3. Then add each egg to the cake mixture one at a time and mix between each egg.
  4. Grease and flour your entire 9 inch or 7 inch cake pan.
  5. Soak your Wilton Bake Even Cake Strips with water and add it around your pan and make sure that the fit is tight. It should be tightly under the edge of the pan. (if you don't have the bake even strips skip this step.)

  6. Add the cake mixture to the cake pans make sure they are divided evenly.
  7. Place the cake pans in the oven for however long the red velvet cake box says. The time should be on the back of the cake box. It usually takes about 30 to 35 minutes to bake. Insert a toothpick or fork in the cake after 30 minutes if it comes out clean then they are ready.

  8. Let the cakes cool for 30 minutes or put them in the refrigerator to cool faster.

  9. Take the cakes out the pan and sit them in the refrigerator or a wire rake. You should have even layers if you use the Wilton Bake Even strips. If not you will have to level your cakes yourself.

Cream Cheese Frosting Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl combine your room temperature cream cheese and room temperature butter and mix for 10 minutes.

  2. Add your vanilla extract to icing and mix until well combined.

  3. Then add each cup of powder sugar one cup at a time and mix for between cups. After 5 minutes you should have soft cream cheese frosting that holds its form but easily spreadable.

  4. On a cake board or cake holder add some cream cheese frosting to the middle and add your first cake layer.

  5. Add a generous amount of frosting in the middle.

  6. Then add your second layer of cake.

  7. At this point you can finish frosting your whole cake with the cream cheese frosting and eat 🙂 or add a crumb coat and refrigerate the cake for 30 minutes and then do the frosting recipe again and add another coat of frosting to your cake.

Recipe Notes

Make sure to put the cake in refrigerator or a cool climate to keep the cream cheese frosting from going bad quick.
